We have made updates to how cancellation policies are displayed and applied across the platform, with the goal of making the process clearer for both guests and partners. These changes are now live across all supported countries and property types.
Clearer Refund Information at Checkout
Guests can now see the exact refund percentage tied to how many days remain before check-in, displayed directly on the property page and again at checkout, before completing a booking. This removes much of the guesswork that previously came with understanding what a cancellation would actually cost.
Flexibility for Property Partners
Property partners retain the flexibility to use the platform default cancellation policy or configure their own custom policy, giving each property the option that best fits how it operates. Partners who prefer a more flexible policy to attract bookings, or a stricter one to protect against last-minute cancellations, can choose accordingly.
Why We Made This Change
Cancellation confusion has consistently been one of the most common sources of support questions from guests. By surfacing refund details earlier and more clearly in the booking flow, we aim to reduce disputes after the fact and give guests the confidence to book knowing exactly what to expect if their plans change.
As always, we welcome feedback on how these changes are working in practice, and we will continue refining the cancellation experience based on what we hear from both guests and partners.
